Happy Darwin Day!

Just a quick cross-post from Skepchick:

Happy Darwin Day, everyone! Obviously you all know it already, and I (usually?) hate to beat a dead and fossilized horse, but there are amusing shenanigans afoot.

1. I’ll be at the Harvard Darwin Day party tonight around 8pm. You should be, too! If you’re not around my neck of the woods, check out DarwinDay.org to find something local.

2. I just published a short Darwin Day post over on Bostonist. Go, read, enjoy!

3. Today’s your last day to enter the Skepchick Darwinian Playlist Contest. Go, listen, compile!

4. If you’re on Twitter, I’m running a mini contest to find the best Darwinian Pick-up Line! Make it short and sweet (or dirty) and include the hashtag #DarwinPickup. You can follow me here, and the Skepchicks account here. Here are previous Skepchick pick-up lines.

5. Finally, check out this great Origin of Species cake made by an SGU listener!
