Apologies for the rather late OFFICIAL notice, but the latest Boston Skeptics Brunch will be taking place this Saturday, February 13th at 11:00 AM, at the Asgard in Central Square. If you’ve never been, our brunches are really informal gatherings where we just eat, drink, and spend time getting to know other cool skeptical people. So come on out, if the tardiness of our announcement hasn’t put you off!

Besides, if we didn’t wait until now, we’d have missed out on the fantastic term “waffle frolic.”

According to Wikipedia:
“Thomas Jefferson brought a waffle iron from France, and waffle frolics or parties became popular in the late eighteenth century.”

Is it true? WHO CARES? It’s an awesome name. So come, hang out, relax, and eat yummy things with us this Saturday! Be sure to RSVP on Facebook so we know how many people to expect!

* NOTE * The Asgard may not actually serve waffles, but that doesn’t mean it’s not a waffle frolic IN OUR HEARTS.

First, we’d like to thank everyone who came out to see Richard Wiseman at the Brattle! You guys made this event a huge success for us, and we hope to plan many more things like that in the future. If you have any ideas, leave us a comment!

Second, don’t forget that the Boston Skeptics Book Club will be meeting on Saturday, Jan 23rd at 2:00 PM at the Clear Conscience Cafe in Central Square. This month’s book is Spook by Mary Roach, and it’s a quick read, so you’ve still got time to pick it up and join the group next weekend! And even if you can’t read this one, feel free to drop in, listen to the discussion, and help pick next month’s book.

Finally, if you were at the Richard Wiseman show you’ll already know this, but we’ve scheduled another Boston Skeptics Brunch for this Saturday, Jan. 16th at 11:00 AM. Our brunches are low-key, informal events where we eat pancakes and socialize. Yes, SOCIALIZING IS MANDATORY! Plus, it’s a great excuse to drink booze in the morning without being mistaken for an alcoholic!

So join us this weekend at The Asgard in Central Square, but be sure to RSVP in the comments or at the Facebook event page so we can give the restaurant a head count!

We look forward to seeing you all there!

It’s been a while since our last Skeptics Brunch (and a crazy couple of months for the Boston Skeptics), but we have finally scheduled our next tasty outing! This time we will be meeting on Saturday, October 10th at Asgard in Cambridge.  As usual, we will be there at 11 am and will probably stay for a couple of hours. Be there!

Hi folks, sorry for the silence. Please note that there will not be a May Skeptics in the Pub, as it turns out that that’s Memorial Day and I (Rebecca) won’t even be in town. So instead, let’s have brunch!

Please RSVP here or on Facebook so we can warn them about the numbers!

Hello and happy new year, local skeptics! I’m happy to announce that we’ll be gathering on a regular basis to enjoy delicious brunches. Right now, I’m thinking more or less every other Sunday morning at 11am, starting February 1, at Asgard in Central Square.

After that, we’ll play it by ear. It won’t always be every other Sunday, because I don’t want to run into other events we’ll have going on, giving some space before and after our pub meet-ups.

I’ll post a reminder about the first brunch a little closer to the date, but just wanted to give you all a heads up. I’ve added the date to the calendar (in the right-hand sidebar).

Mmmm, nerdy brunch.
